Supra, the first Layer-1 blockchain built for Automatic DeFi (AutoFi) through full vertical integration, is excited to announce an expansion of its SupraEVM Beta Bounty. CEO and Co-Founder Joshua Tobkin has committed up to $1 million worth of his own $SUPRA tokens as a personal bounty. This is for any developer or research team that can create a faster and verifiably correct EVM-parallel execution engine than SupraBTM, which powers SupraEVM.
The SupraEVM Speed Challenge offers a personal bounty in addition to a $40,000 USDC performance-based reward from the foundation. So far, no team has been able to beat the performance of SupraBTM. It remains the top performer in public tests, outpacing all known EVM-parallel solutions, including Monad, one of the more advanced projects in high-performance EVM technology.
“I am betting $1 million of my own tokens that no one can beat Supra,” said Co-Founder and CEO Joshua Tobkin. “Supra is built on transparency. We claim to be the fastest, so we are aiming to prove it in public. And if someone can demonstrate a superior execution engine under clear conditions, I will honor that outcome directly.”
Addressing the Core Bottleneck in Blockchain Scalability
Blockchain technology has improved a lot, especially in consensus protocols, data availability, and oracle systems. But, the speed at which transactions happen is still a problem. This limits the growth of decentralized applications (dApps). For example, fast and safe transactions are especially hard in the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). But fast transactions are needed for things like DeFi, real-time games, and AI-powered agents to work smoothly.
SupraEVM, powered by SupraBTM (Block Transactional Memory), solves this problem. It uses a smart design to:
- Reduce extra work
- Predict when transactions will conflict
- Organize transactions by figuring out how they depend on each other
Benchmark Results: Superior Performance Over Monad
SupraBTM vs Monad: Performance Test Results
SupraBTM was tested on 10,000 Ethereum mainnet blocks and compared directly with Monad’s 2-Phase Execution (2PE) method. Both were run on the same hardware (16-core AMD 4564P CPU with 192 GB RAM).
Results Showed SupraBTM Performing Better:
- 1.5 to 1.7 times faster throughput than Monad for different tasks
- 4 to 7 times quicker than traditional Ethereum execution
- Consistent performance even in difficult situations, like DeFi and arbitrage trading
Why SupraBTM Is Better
SupraBTM avoids speculative execution and rollbacks. Instead, it uses a deterministic scheduling model, which means it adapts easily to different setups and handles high-demand situations well.
“Supra was built from the ground up to integrate execution, consensus, and core infrastructure components into a cohesive framework,” said Jon Jones, CBO and Co-Founder at Supra. “The result is an architecture that not only delivers performance, but does so in a way that is reproducible and testable against any known parallel EVM engine available today.”
Challenge Guidelines and Structure
There is a $1 million token prize available for developers or research teams who can build a faster EVM execution engine under certain test conditions. The entries must be open source, verifiable, and reproducible.
Full Criteria:
- Process at least 100,000 consecutive Ethereum mainnet blocks.
- Run on regular hardware with no more than 16 CPU cores.
- Improve performance by at least 15% when using 4, 8, and 16 thread configurations.
- Publish results publicly and let the community and independent groups check the results.
- Release the code under an open-source license and keep it available for audits.
Reward Details:
- Participants can claim the reward directly or work with Supra’s engineering team for more help and collaboration.
- The token rewards come from Tobkin’s personal allocation, and they will unlock in 2027, with the reward vesting over two years.
- This prize is separate from Supra’s main operations or treasury.
“This challenge is focused on the core technical issue that continues to constrain the EVM,” Tobkin added. “The objective is to find or validate the most performant execution engine possible. If someone is able to build a better system than what we have achieved at Supra, the industry should recognize it and benefit from it.”

This page has all the details about the $1M SupraEVM Speed Challenge, which you can find on its landing page. Supra’s technical team has also released a detailed benchmark report comparing SupraBTM and Monad, available on their website. Developers who want early access to SupraEVM can join the waitlist here.
About Supra
Supra is the first blockchain designed for Automatic DeFi (AutoFi). AutoFi is a new type of financial system that runs on its own. It is also perfect for crypto AI Agents. Supra is built on a Layer-1 blockchain that has fast smart contracts, native price oracles, automated systems, and bridgeless cross-chain messaging.
Supra’s technology is different from other blockchains. Its vertical stack brings new AutoFi features that can generate fair, recurring profits for the protocol. These profits are then shared across the whole network. This reduces the need for inflationary block rewards over time.
The system also gives on-chain AI Agents the tools they need to run powerful DeFi tasks for users. These agents can operate automatically, securely, and autonomously.
